Madres del Triángulo Rosa is a sincere look back, starting from the moment her eldest son, in his teenage bedroom, confessed to her that he didn’t like women. She, a mother who gives everything for her children, told herself that she would love him above all else. However, she soon realized that it was easier said than done, that her heart was still filled with prejudice.
In designing process for the cover of this reading book, our goal was to create an abstract representation of a half-bust adorned with the derogatory phrases used by a prejudiced society against homosexual individuals, making it a lasting impresion on them. In addition to this symbolic portrayal, we incorporated a reversed triangle shape, reminiscent of the markings used by the Nazis during World War II to identify and discriminate the LGBTI individuals.
